From rushing back to New York to draw at the book release for the head of fashion at Instagram, to voting in the midterm elections (#democracy) to drawing one of my best friends as her cabaret character, Fancy DuCan, it’s been a whirlwind of a week.

Like a tornado, but with more sparkles and democratic process.

Enjoy!

Unpublished Portrait:

I drew this while waiting for gas at my favorite gas station back in Ann Arbor, MI. It hasn’t changed since about 1950 and every time I go there it feels like I’ve time traveled back to a town in a Norman Rockwell painting. This clerk was leaning on the cash register and staring out the window the whole time my tank filled up. There was something so lonely and sweet about him, of course I had to take out my sketchbook.
