A perfect Valentine's Gift that you can make in just one minute 🤗

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and I have a cute gift idea for you that will literally take one minute to make! This is perfect for a Zoom date with your bestie, V-day fun with the kiddos, or as a quick mini-date with your boo.

Watch the video below for instructions!

While you're drawing, focus on the things you love about your muse. The smile that lights up your world, the way their glasses are always a little crooked, the wonderful curls of their hair ... now's the time to soak it all in and think about how much you love them. Get out your paints or markers and add some color to your drawing to make it even more fun!

Remember, your valentine doesn’t have to be romantic, look for any opportunity to say I love you to the folks that make your life lovely!

I just got a lovely note from a reader who tried this blind portrait exercise with her daughter with excellent results: 2 silly drawings, lots of belly laughs and one wonderful memory of a fun afternoon together that they won't soon forget.

That's the thing I love most about drawing from life- it can bring surprising amounts of joy and connection, even if you only spend a minute doing it.

P.S. If you end up doing this - you better tag me and share your portraits - I love seeing what you create!

P.P.S. If you’d like me to create a portrait for you, my commission books are open again!

P.P.P.S If this seems fun, check out my new book "Drawn On The Way: A guide to capturing the moment through live sketching" for more help and inspiration turning your world into a work of art!
